Born on May 27, 1977, in Komae City, Tokyo. Founder of YOKKOYAMA HAT MARKET. During his childhood, the only thing he remembers is skateboarding. He moved to the U.S. for a language study program, then returned to Japan to complete university. Upon going back to the U.S., he became inspired to pursue hat-making.
In 2008, he became the first Japanese recipient of the Hat Designer of the Year award. Currently, he runs YOKKOYAMA HAT MARKET, a hat specialty store in New York’s Lower East Side, where his handmade creations are beloved by many New Yorkers.
